Wednesday Group Rides - Round the Mountain

The Freewheelers typically meet in the Platzl at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings from May until late October or early November. We split into groups based on ability and desired riding pace for a ~2 hour mountain bike ride on Kimberley's amazing trail system finishing with refreshments at a local establishment. A 2026 Kootenay Freewheelers membership or day pass is required for all riders. Please see our Club Rides page for more information.

Our annual Round the Mountain ride is on! We will have several ride options this Wednesday, June 17:

• Semi-social (moderate pace) RTM rides will be departing the Kimberley Nordic Centre parking lot at 6:30pm. We'll split into groups led by Rose and Jeremy.

• Anti-socials (super-fast pace) will be departing the Platzl at 6:00pm to ride RTM, led by Tyler.

• There will be a selection of super- and semi-social regular (not RTM) rides departing the Platzl at 6:30pm, led by David, Henk, and Dana.

Members riding Round the Mountain should expect a 2.5-3 hour ride. The route taken by each group will vary, but it will be a 20km+ ride with over 600m of elevation gain and some technical sections. Unfortunately due to leader availability we aren't able to offer a super-social paced RTM ride this year. A Freewheelers membership or day pass and KTS trail pass are required to participate.
