FREEWHEELER CLUB RIDES
Wednesday Group Rides
The Freewheelers typically meet in the Platzl at 6:30pm on Wednesday evenings from May until late October or early November. We split into groups based on ability and desired riding pace for a ~2 hour mountain bike ride on Kimberley's amazing trail system finishing with refreshments at a local establishment. A Kootenay Freewheelers membership or day pass is required for all riders.
It's best to follow our Facebook page or join our Facebook group for the latest info on group rides.
Monday Women's Group Rides
The women's group rides meet at various trailheads around Kimberley at 6:30pm on Mondays, with après at the Sullivan Pub for wing night. Check our Facebook page on Sundays for the location. A Kootenay Freewheelers membership or day pass is required for all riders.
Ride Levels
Depending on numbers, there are usually four or more riding groups on Wednesday nights. Here is a guideline of what to expect from each group:
Super Social: A more low key ride, on easier trails at a very casual pace, generally sticking to green trails and some blues.
Semi-Social: Cover more KM, at a still social pace, slightly harder trails riding blues and if the group is okay maybe some blacks.
Extreme Social: Riding harder trails at a social pace! sticking to blues and mostly black trails.
Anti-Social: Smashing out the KMs on all types of trails from green to black at a not so social pace.
