About the event
Our 2024 Annual General Meeting will be held at Biscuit: A Place to Sup in the Platzl on Wednesday, Nov 13th at 6:30 pm, and there will be food provided for those attending.
The role of president is open, and we traditionally fill that position by vote at the AGM unless filled by acclamation. We also will have room for 1-2 new board members, these are typically not voted upon, but filled by expression of interest. If you are interested in filling either of these roles please email kootenayfreewheelers@gmail.com and we will be in touch. There are also non-board committee and volunteer roles in several areas like the youth program, club rides, club racing, bike swap, website maintenance, grant writing etc., so there are lots of ways to get involved.
We are also giving notice that, after considering feedback from the member survey this summer, the current Board of Directors has decided to introduce a Special Resolution motion for the membership to vote on at the AGM: To change the official name of our club to the Kimberley Freewheelers Cycling Club. This motion will be voted on by members present at the meeting (proxy votes are not permitted) and must attain a two thirds majority to pass.
